Season Overview

Spring Season

Spring is the primary season of play for all levels. Registration opens in early December.

  • Majors and Above: Practices begin after the draft in mid-February or early March. Games start in mid-March, with post-season tournaments (District 1) running into early June.

  • T-Ball and Minor Divisions (Rookie, Farm, Minor): Practices typically begin 2–4 weeks before Jamboree weekend in late March. Games begin after Edmonds School District’s spring break and run through early June. Minor division will participate in a post-season tournament.

  • Big League: Practices begin in mid-April, with games running from May through mid-June.

Summer All-Stars

Alderwood All-Star teams are formed from players in the Minors division and above. Players selected to Alderwood All-Star teams will continue play through the end of July as they compete in the District 1 Little League Tournament (road to the Little League World Series). Please keep this in mind when planning summer vacations, as full commitment is required for all selected players.

Fall Season

Fall Ball is geared toward league-age 7–11 players and focuses on player development. Alderwood Little League may direct families to participate with other local leagues instead of hosting its own fall ball season. Registration typically opens in mid-May.

  • Practices/clinics begin in late August.

  • Team play runs through mid-October.

  • A typical schedule includes three games or practices per week.

  • Games may be inter-league or intra-league depending on player/team counts.

  • Fall rules limit players to 2 innings per position to encourage rotation and learning new positions.

Practice & Games Locations

Practices are held at fields rented by Alderwood Little League through the Edmonds School District. Field assignments are made by team managers. Managers may choose alternative locations, such as indoor gyms or batting cages, which may incur a nominal fee for players. Practice schedules are set by the team manager, so days and times may vary by team. All managers and coaches are volunteers, and we ask that you respect their decisions regarding practice dates, times, and locations.

Home Games
The Alderwood Little League complex features two baseball diamonds and one 60-foot softball diamond dedicated to T-Ball, Minor, and Major Divisions of baseball and softball, as well as Junior Softball. Games typically include one weeknight game (Monday through Thursday) and one weekend game (Friday night or Saturday). Schedules will be available at least one week prior to the start of play. Sunday games are only scheduled for make-ups at the Major levels.

Away Games
Divisions participating in inter-league play will have away games at fields within District 1 (Snohomish County).
