Parents play a vital role in creating a positive and enriching experience for everyone involved—players, coaches, umpires, and fellow families. Your support helps shape the culture of our league and ensures that every child has the opportunity to grow, learn, and enjoy the game.
To highlight the importance of parent involvement, here’s an excerpt from the Official Regulations and Playing Rules of National Little League Baseball:
“The parents of millions of Little Leaguers—alongside their children, league officials, umpires, managers, coaches, auxiliary members, and countless volunteers including sponsors—represent a powerful cross section of our nation.
Parents are encouraged to take initiative and share responsibility in making their local program successful. Little League is not a club offering babysitting or entertainment privileges—it’s a community-driven effort built and sustained by adult volunteers who want to extend its benefits to their children.
Every parent has a role to play. There’s a place and a job for everyone, and the success of the league should never rest on just a few. When parents step back, it places an unfair burden on others.”
At Alderwood Little League, we believe that when families come together, great things happen for the kids and the community. Whether you're cheering from the stands, volunteering your time, or helping behind the scenes, your involvement makes a difference.
